What is a 3 Phase Motor Generator?

A  3 phase motor generator converts electrical power into another form of electricity.  A three phase generator is attached to an electric motor. The motor is creating the input current and the generator the output current.  Basically, two main parts are able to produce energy for other components.  A 3 phase motor generator is different from a standard motor in that the motor is attached to a separate generator. The motor and the generator are connected together on the rotor through the use of outer field (magnets) coils.  The rotor and shaft assembly is larger than a regular sized motor.
